Yesterday one of my young hens (6 months) started vomiting. I immediately noticed her crop was swollen. I massaged her crop and she expelled a lot. No sour smell that I noticed though. Immediately after she seemed to be starving. I separated her though and brought her in the house away from the others. Fresh water and she seems ok. No more vomiting. Tonight I went to close up the run and check on the others. I noticed when I shined a light in my rooster appeared to be drooling. That tells me hes vomiting too. What does this mean? Im scared this is worse than just sour crop? I gave them some left over watermelon and table scraps from our cookout on Friday. Its never bothered them before but could it be that?? I dont want to lose my whole flock. The rooster and other hens are 2 years old. And theres no way I can catch my rooster to massage his crop. Hes a jerk and thats putting it mildly.
