Yesterday I noticed my scissor beak chicken, Mocha, wasn't acting like her usual self. She was sitting in a corner with her feathers fluffed and her wings down. She wouldn't even come to me for food.

I took her to a vet and I was told she should be put down because of her deformity. She has been extremely active and happy until yesterday morning. I tube feed her twice a day and she's been healthy until now. I don’t think her deformity has anything to do with this. The vet refused to do any more tests and charged me $200 to do nothing.

This morning I noticed her crop didn't empty. It had emptied the night before. She's almost 8 months old. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

If her crop is not emptying, then you need to address that symptom.

Do keep in mind that crop symptoms are often the result of an underlying condition. She may have something else going on. Does she lay eggs? Did the vet run a test for worms?

Photos of Mocha and her poop may be helpful as well.

You tube feed her 2X a day, can she also eat on her own too?

She pooped twice today but I didn't take a picture. It was watery and smelled pretty strong. I'll take a picture in the morning

No

Poor thing, it looks like she's not doing well:(

If the crop is not emptying, then I would treat for Sour Crop.
Looks like she has a lot of food buildup on her beak, does she have a lot of that inside the beak/throat too?

Nothing inside her throat. There's not usually food buildup and she gets regular baths and beard trims to keep the area clean. I'm assuming it's also a symptom of whatever is wrong with her. I might try taking her to a different vet if treating for sour crop doesn't work.

I'm sorry the vet was not helpful.

I would begin treating her. The methods in that article I linked are what I use for my own birds when I need to treat them. I would get the coconut oil into her, this can sometimes get things moving. Since she looks all puffed up, then I would treat for sour crop with the yeast medication as well. Even if there's no odor, often a crop is turning sour if the system is not moving well - hopefully you are getting on top of this and she starts to improve.
I would still tube fluids/food as room allows, she needs to stay hydrated.

I bought some cream with miconazole in it and gave her some with water. I ordered medistatin from a pigeon supply website but it won't be here for a few days. I can buy coconut oil tomorrow as well.
