I received a D’uccle with mild crossbeak (and weirdly, some missing toenails) from a friend. She was hatched sometime in February, but has yet to lay an egg.She is scared of my standard hens and mostly stays in the coop.I’m going to try to get some more bantams for her and my bantam roo.I know bantams take longer to lay but it’s NOVEMBER.Could it be from a genetic defect since she already seems inbred? Is it maybe from a lack of light? She is currently eating layer mash. Thanks for any help!

She'd probably do better with a few more her size.

There's actually another post about a cross-beak not laying.

It is also like you said, November, and the time of the year most chickens either stop laying or slow way down. I'm not a believer of giving them more light to compensate as a chicken can only lay so many eggs and winter is when they rest, but to each their own with that! :) Mine still lay, but about half as much.
