Crossbreeding Indian Runners - genetics regarding upright posture

I am considering crossbreeding a couple of my runners with a couple other breeds. Mainly call ducks and crested silver Appleyards.

I'm somewhat getting a bit of a grasp on the colour genetics but I'm curious if there is any genetics to do with posture that I should consider? My goal with the runner/call crossing would be to have little bantam runners. I'm sure that will take time but my question is how much time? Is it possible to know how many generations it would take?
With the crested appleyards/runner cross I would love some crested runners.hopefully Snowy crested runner since my drake is a snowy. Again I'm curious how long it may take to get that lean body and upright stance back.

How would you go about that?

Drake runner too big for the call hens.
Call Drake wouldn’t be big enough to mate the runner hen.
I’d also be concerned about the runner cross being too big for the call egg & dying before hatch.

But an upright call would be sooooo awesome, I think. Lolol
I raise both breeds. My calls are so sassy.

So, per what I recall reading from Dave Holderread, (Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks) you can reduce the physical size of the offspring by inbreeding them once.

From the book: "this entails mating together related birds, such as first cousins, uncles, or aunts to nephews or nieces, or parents to to offspring." p.31
Also, " ducklings that are grown out on 15% protein ration that is balanced... Will be smaller than those provided a high protein diet."

If you are going to create a new line, that book would be worth owning , but I just gave you the 2 most important parts from it.

Where/how did you fet your Crested SAs or they have a Crest normally? Do you have pictures?
I love my Cresteds, they are so sweet and silly, they love to be sprayed in the face with the hose and nibble my boots if I’m too slow with the mealworms

I picked mine up off a guy local to me who breeds tons of birds. Just rehomed the male a few days ago.

Also attaching a pic of a mini runner I saw in a local FB group. Runner x call cross.

I raise ducklings on 13% protein, week 3 I add some wheat , week 4 more wheat, etc. they all are from the same flock that was started from 1 drake and 2 hens. I have got a lot of big, chunky indian runners.

on the other hand ducklings that are hatched from small pullet eggs remained small (some of them didn't hatch or didn't survive).

WOW beautiful birds! I love how hers is speckled and his is white on his green head.
