Day 20 of lockdown!

Tomorrow is going to be BUSY! I Have 5 French Black Copper Marans eggs in incubator, day 20 today, then I get an email from the hatchery that my 10 chicks and 2 ducks were shipped yesterday and are due by tomorrow! I think I'd better get busy on my brooder to get it finished and in the house today!

Day 21 and 1 pipped!! I dreamed about eggs hatching all night. Lying wide awake from 3 to 330 am, I finally realized I was not destined to go back to sleep, so went and peered thru my bator and YAY one pip at 3:40 . Now making coffee, no progress yet...

11 hours after 1st pip, and 4 hours after pip from 2nd egg, both black copper marans

hatched within a minute of each other! SOOO happy! No pips on the other 3 eggs yet, but day 21 just started! Sorry hard to see with the humidity rise!

Day 25, guess the 3 remaining eggs will be pulled out of the bator. Candled on day 18 all were alive, day 24, couldn't really tell, eyes played tricks, thought I saw movement but knew that by day 25 I give up. I did get two beautiful feather footed black copper marans out of 5 so am pleased. Just ordered 6 silver Polish eggs (my favorite) and ordered a new incubator since this was too hard to see hatch due to completely blocked views. Meanwhile, my mixed flock of 22 hens are doing great and 12 babies from Ideal are thriving along with my ducklings!
