I have a new bantam mama. She has sat on several eggs for 22 days in a nesting box with out a lip but on the ground. Several times we have found eggs outside the box but when candled seem to be developing. I mark them and have put back under her. I figure if she pushed them out twice then I would get rid of them. I can’t tell if they are bad or if she is inexperienced as she pushed one out but steals a newly laid egg from other boxes. Today is day 22 we found an egg out of the nest that never has been pushed out and when candled it is dark with a 1/2” air sac. It was cold though I don’t see movement but I don’t have a good flashlight. Do I put it back under her or get rid of it? Also is it ok that it is now day 22 and no pipping? How long do you wait till you pull the eggs?
