Is it too late. I've have 3 Mandarin eggs in a Janoel 12 incubator. I just candled them quickly last night ( day 24) without handling them much. The airpocket appears to small.... Like at candling Day 18 size. Is it too late to increase this air sac? I'm trying to increase ventilation by lifting the lid slightly to reduce the humidity level.... But reduced to what ? This Janoel 12 does not maintain a proper % level. It level has fluctuated up and down of 65.
I am afraid I've Lost there lil guys

Do you have a hygrometer? How high is your humidity level? At about what percent?
Yes. Displays both temp n humidity. This Janoel Before12 has NOT been dependable. I think I its defective which is why I purchased a a good one. Not relying on the Janoel 12. Once LOCK DOWN came a long I struggled maintaining 65% . It went up n down around .
I candled them last night and it doesn't look good. The air sac is small. How low is too low at this point.
I am throwing away this Janoel 12 after this.

after not sleeping much last night and monitoring these eggs, today I'm going to try reducing the humidity in the range of 50% hoping to increase their air sac. I know my window is small to create such a change. Hope this works. Will candle again tonight to check on progress.

Try lowering it more, i guess 35 or 40 percent... then raise it to 50% when you see improvement or difference upon the Air cell size of the egg. Then slightly increase it to 60% and try 65% humidity while hatching.... But i think it's already late.... Just observe the eggs.... Malpositions might happen as the air cell is small and the chick is large....

What % does it read it you remove all water?

The humidity goes through the roof ... I've done it already once. Before lock down I had to empty the water reservoir because the water level eventually was higher than the hatching tray. Which is also why I then purchased a gyotherm.
I removed the eggs, emptied water, and had to re establish a new humidity level.
The Janoel 12 digital setting controls just donot work correctly. I have struggled with it from the beginning.
It is almost 5pm and can't wait to candle soon when it gets darker.
I'm already shopping for a new incubator and then order more eggs.
My heart is broken. I've been mothering these babies non stop.
