Difference between Coturnix and Italian

Hi, I'm going to hatch quail, what's the difference between coturnix and Italian quail. I can get hatching eggs from those varieties but what's the difference? Are they the same? Is 1 stronger than the other, I might get northern bobwhite hatching eggs aswell.
Do they make good pets?

Here in the US Italian is just the name of a color. It is a coturnix quail.
