My chicken has the tiniest insects in the fluffy parts near the shaft of her feathers. I have to really search to find them. She is not well so I need to treat her.
I’ve purchased a small quantity (5ml) of Elector PSP for £25 as I only have 7 chickens.
The little file has an instruction which by my calculation is too dilute.
The instruction is 1ml in 750mls water
Reading from the large green carton data sheet I should use 1.6mls in 750mls water for spraying onto the chicken for Northern fowl mites and almost 2ml with 750mls water for red mite
I have contacted supplier who says I shouldn’t need to use more than 1ml in 750mls but that it is safe at a higher concentration. He’s the only uk small quantity supplier and I have made my purchase but I want to apply this once and have the best chance of killing the insects
Please advise.
The liquid looks like a thick creamy/white liquid in the vile.
Many thanks

Welcome to BYC. I think the amount you need to use is 1.8 ml per 750 ml.

Here in the US, the dilution is 9 ml per US gallon (3785 ml)
3785 ml / 9ml = ~0.0024 ml

0.0024 x 750 = 1.8ml

Double check my math.
I only have 7 chickens I am looking at getting the 9ml elector psp but I will not need a gallon mixed up at one time. I am Th inking of using a 12oz or 16oz bottle to spray them and coop but am not finding how to Mix it. How much should I use?

If it's 9 ml to a gallon, I think the math is:

9 ml / 126 ounces = 0.0703125 ml per ounce

12 ounces x 0.0703125 = .84 ml
16 ounces x 0.0703125 = 1.125 ml

Check my math!

Is there a different dilution for spraying the coop vs. spraying the birds?
I just used the same bottle what was left from spraying chicken and sprayed coop. It was the 16oz dilut. I only used about half maybe more on chickens and I think I got them pretty good. What was left in spray bottle I used in coop. All my chickens have feathered legs and the rooster legs still look a little pink so I am going to wait the 14 days and do it all again. It took me from 730 am to 330 pm. Was a chicken rodeo trying to catch hens that don't want to be picked up.
