Our son was checking on his flock this morning when the rooster attacked him. He kicked to keep him away. In doing so the rooster seemed to dislocate his leg. Our son feels just sick about it, even though he was protecting himself(the rooster still got his claws into him).
He’s not sure what to do now. The leg just hangs from the knee down. Can we relocate it ourselves?
He’s a HUGE bird and I can’t image him walking on one leg or having it in a splint.

I would get rid of that rooster as a first step. A human aggressive rooster around children is an awful idea that can leave both the rooster and the kid injured. Your rooster already injured your kid. There are many non human aggressive rooster that need homes if you want another rooster.
