Has anybody tried using incontinence pads in the brooder as bedding, or have any suggestions about using these? Would the chicks get their claws caught in them, do you think? I was thinking about using them for perhaps the first week or so. Thanks.

I've used them for chicks and ducklings. They work great for a little while until they figure out they can scratch them to pieces and try to eat them. But it does make it easy to keep the brooder clean and I liked having less dust since they were in the house the first couple weeks.

Thank you! I think I will try them for a week or two, then switch to shredded paper and pine shavings. Or I might keep a pad under the paper and pine shavings just so I can roll everything up together for ease of cleaning. We'll see how it goes!
