Ive always refused spending money on something I can do myself, that includes spending on an incubator. A while back I found a styrofoam Incubator dumped in the trash here in our subdivision, after testing it, it turned out it cas the digital control panel not working. I took off the control panel which also had the heat source and humidiry sensor and installed the waffer thermostat I had bought a while back to build my 1st wooden drawer incubatir, as heat source I installed two 75w light bulbs and a little bit of wiring and duct tape and we were good for a while hatching chicken eggs until the clicking on/off item of the thermostat stopped working. I found the replacement on ebay for $20 but also found for the $12 a digital thermostat and decided to give it a try. When it arrived I noticed it was too bulky and heavy to use it with the styrofoam bator so I used our old fridge that stopped working as the bator and here is the result. This is my diy homemade incubator I built out of an old fridge when my styrofoam one (seen on top) stopped working. Bought a digital thermostat for $12 on ebay, heat source is two 100 w light bulbs on the top freezer box which I drilled two 4 inch holes and scrwed a 4 inch usb fan to blow the heat and humidity to the bottom portion of the fridge. I set up two shelves with wire cloth as flooring to set the egg turner abd egg trays and have air circulation and use a plastic veggie box from the market as a hatching box with a peice of cloth to set the eggs during lockdown. I set the temp to 102-103 in the heat box to maintain 99.5-100.5 on the bottom part where the incubation and hatching takes place. I dont have a humidity metet but I do the dry hatching and add some water on top when going to lockdown.
