Do ducks play fight?

While I was doing dishes earlier today, my 3 ducks were outside on my patio destroying my garden and I heard some unusual noises coming from them. So i rushed out to make sure they were ok. All three seemed to be fighting by attacking each others beak. I broke it up and they did it again about 20 minutes later.

I searched some duck threads reading up about fighting, but I mainly read about males having a go at it. I have 2 females and a drake so I don't think it has anything to do with that. They're 3 months old now, probably getting close to maturity? Any insight on this would be fantastic! I want to make sure my ducks are safe

As long as it doesn't start getting bloody yes. They usually sort it out on their own without anyone being injured.

I thought only drakes did this? will they go back to being friends afterwards?

No all animals will establish dominance. Also, don't be surprised if they start mounting each other as well. After everyone knows "Who's the boss" it will go back to normal
