Just a silly question:
I have a Polish (Kalena) hen who's other Polish flockmate (Pierogi) passed away in June. Pierogi timid and Kalena would be more in the middle of the pecking order of my group. The two were inseparable. Pierogi was the lowest in the pecking order and died after mites infested my coop after a flood.
Kalena now is hanging out with my new easter egger who is shy and hides away from everyone else and looks like she will be lowest in the pecking order.
Is this possibly because she reminds her of Pierogi or just because she prefers this temperament?
