Do I need To HIDE the apron?

I couldnt find a thread on this. I really want to put our chickens in their coop tonight or in the morning. The 4ft predator apron overlaps on all four corners and is pvc coated 1/2" hardware cloth. Do we need to put some soil or mulch over it? I assume we need to stake it down with landscape staples. Just wondering if predators will see the cloth and then go to the edge of it to dig. Thanks in advance.

You didn't need to hide. The grass will eventually grow up through it.

Yes to staking it down with landscape staples but as grass grows back in it will disguise it for you. Doesn't really matter if predators and pests can "see" it.

Definitely stake down the outer edges, especially where it is buckling and wavy so preds wont try to go under and to avoid catching it with the mower.

You do not NEED to but I put a couple of inches of dirt over it. That is basically sod that I took out before I put the apron on. That is not so much to keep predators out, it is to keep the wire out of mowers and especially weed eaters. It is so much neater and cleaner with the wire buried and it is out of the way. it is also very easy to see where something tried to dig down, hit the wire and left.
