Do pheasants need a nest box?

I was wondering if pheasants would use or even like a nest box for laying their eggs? Mine pen has a large indoor section that has dried leaves as bedding.

Depends on what species of pheasant your talking about, some will use a nest box or basket. In general they will lay there eggs all over the pen. Just make sure you have plenty of hiding places in your pen and cover, lke evergreen branches or if the pen is large tall grasses.

Ringnecks tend to lay their eggs anywhere, and usually won't set on a nest...but there are always exceptions to the rule when it comes to ringnecks.
