I know they eat ticks, and I doubt they eat fleas... but do they? (I hope so

). If they do, I'm going to try and get some.

yeah - our guineas eat fleas, ticks, all manner of bugs including fire ants. We keep a flock of 18 at all times & with 8 dogs have only had a flea issue this year (last month) although we keep the dogs treated anyway but usually only treat them once every 3 months as compared to monthly. I won't say you will not have any fleas - we routinely find one or two on at least one of the dogs but you normally wont have a infestation. We have been on this property 16 years & were covered in ticks & fleas until we started with guineas. They have even killed snakes! And the fire ant issue is a major problem here in SC. But on my farm I find only one or 2 small mounds whereas my neighbors on both sides have 1 to 2 foot mounds everywhere on their pastures. These are fairly good sized tracts of land - we have 24 acres & the neighbors both have oxer 30 acres. I have found my flock of 18 keep ours under control. Also note that I do not use insecticides on my farm unless it is a have to (in other words I recentlu used a granular flea product in the yard when the fleas "surged" but not on the entire farm) but that was a first in about 6 years. But we had a mild winter & a rainy spring & the guineas have been staying at the barn & back pastures this year. They just returned to the "house" area last week & began roosting in their normal "tree" by the house. They will roam so if you have a smaller tract of land I do not know how well you will be able to keep them home. They also are attracted to the road if it is too close... Our house is 800 ft from the road & in the middle of our land which is shaped in a rectangle... good luck with the flea issue!
