I am looking into adding another type of bird to my flock family. I currently have a rooster and 8 hens. I was wondering would a Toulouse geese (two or one) make a good pet? I also have super close neighbors so I was wondering if they are super loud or how much noise they make? Would they get along in a run with with chickens? Basically, I am wondering on how loud they are and their temperament.

Toulouse Geese

Geese are extremely load!
If you decide to get a gander it may become overly protective of its hens and attack you.
Some geese tend to get on well with hens but you could end up with one that becomes extra interested in your hens and decides to mount them.
I would advise you not to get geese but maybe get ducks instead

Geese are very interesting and personable birds. They can be noisy, but in my experience Toulouse are not particularly noisy. In a free range environment they get along well with other fowl, but in a run perhaps not so well especially during the breeding season. They also like an environment where they are able to feed on vegetation/grass.

We selected Toulouse (and French Toulouse) geese for their calmer and quieter natures. Make sure you get at least two!! Geese need other geese, and other poultry don't cut it. Also, you won't have as many potential problems with your chickens if you don't acquire a gander and stick with females.
