Do your Turkeys Chase your Car?

My 4 turkeys LOVE to chase my car as soon as I head down to the barn. They are very odd. Any idea why they do this?

Yes , cause you drive down to the barn and feed them. they know the car brings food or brings you which brings food. keeping them up will keep them from getting run over or stopping traffic for extended periods of time. They are very smart critters

Silly turkeys

They are so attached to me. I never thought they would be so personable! To catch them peering in the windows while making lunch is very entertaining.

Haha! LOL, turkeys sure are entertaining, my tom, Rosco always chases my dad's motorcycle gobbling away. sometime i wonder is her thinks it's a big orange turkey with a motor...
Crazy, aren't they?

Caught all 4 peering in my bedroom window while I was hanging clothes this morning. It scared me at first, but seconds after I broke down into a fit of laughter :gig

Mine is a peeping tom too. He is always staring in the back door as if to say "hey man, let me in!" He taps on the glass, I'm assuming because he can see his reflection. He does it to my truck bumper too. He's a cool guy, he follows me everywhere. These are my first domestic turkeys. I have been a turkey hunter for many years and the wild turkeys are very elusive and their survival instincts make them a tough animal to hunt, but these domestics.... well.... they are quite a bit different LOL. Not exactly the sharpest animal in the yard LOL, but still very cool and a lot of fun.

Oh two of my turkeys are Eastern Wild turkeys and they are the friendliest of all. Especially one of them. She will walk right up and lay beside me and rest against my legs. She is the friendliest bird I have here. They are very intelligent, and she knows the difference between me and a visitor.

Here is Betty for example. I was taking pictures of my silkies at the time.

Our Tom is pretty friendly as well. He's the one that chases our car the most. I've been told that our new pair of Royal Palms will keep our Eastern Wild girls around. They all free range, so here's hoping! It is legal to keep them here. Not that we really 'keep' them here. They sleep on the barn roof and range our property all day.
