Does shooting the fox fix the problem?

I lost 2 a couple months ago shortly after letting them out. Never saw a thing but I have a bob cat lurking around here.Being a cat lover I don't want to kill it.I only free range sporatically

I think shooting THAT fox will solve THAT problem. Of course there will be more foxes, forever, but that fox won't kill any more chickens. We have a lot of coyotes around and over the years we've lost some chickens to them. But I blast them if I see them, and I think the word has gotten out among them, to be super careful if they plan to hunt around here. We let the chickens out almost every day but I try to pay attention when they are out. I think it's true that there will always be predators around. But think they are pretty smart, and will avoid dangerous places.
