Dr. Fred Thornberry...Alive or dead?

I have him and his spouse in critical condition in 2009 due to a single vehicle car crash. That means he drove his car into a ditch/phone pole/bridge abutment...etc...

There is nothing circa 2011 as to his condition. Can anyone help here, with the basics?
