Hi ,

I have a drake I dont know the age so not sure if he is too old. However a month ago he started to sit longer than usual, now all he is doing is sitting. He is not foraging, eating and drinking ok

He struggles while he is trying to sit, he uses his wings as crutches. When he sits he tucks his tail in. What do you think wrong with him?

If he's with others you should separate him, any other symptoms? Diarrhea, difficulty breathing, twisted neck? Maybe check his legs/feet for any injuries
He doesnt have diarrhoea or difficulty breathing. But I made him walk fast to see if he is ok walking, his neck is slightly on left or right, not straight. But when standing he straighten it up.

Help Dr. 0, @Isaac 0 :)

Sorry to hear about your drake!

I would agree that it might be an injury of sorts, but we'll need some more information.

How old is he, just a rough guess? What is he being fed?

You said, "he is not foraging, and drinking/eating ok" did you mean now, or not? Big difference on how I'd go about treating him if he's not eating or drinking.

Could you take a video of him, and upload it to a video platform like Youtube or Vimeo, and copy/paste the link here?

We can tell a lot about the bird just by doing a thorough physical examination, so could you bring him inside and set him in an area you feel comfortable doing one in? If yes, I want you to check his whole body for abnormalities. That'd include checking in his mouth for lesions, snot, or plaque, examining his ear's for signs of excess gunk, as well as eyes for discoloration. Feel, look, and move all his body parts for breaks, swelling, bruising. If you are very thorough about doing this, odds are you will come up with something, that might ultimately help us figure out what his problem is.

Refer to think link for more info on doing one,

Thank you so much

When we bought the house last year ducks were already there, so we asked them to leave the ducks so bought them from the previous owner, we didnt really ask them the age. But my boyfriend said he asked them a month ago when he saw the previous owner, he said he is too old. That's all I know 😔

I feed all my ducks with "duck and goose mix" and sometimes I buy allen&page duckfeed. I also give them niacin occasionally

I just went outside and took video of him. See link below :

You can see he is eating and drinking.but he is not foraging anymore I think he cant bend over, I am not sure

Thank you again
