I have done a search and can not find a answer to my question. We rescued 2 Mandarin drakes. They were given to use in separate "bunny hutches", we are looking to build them and aviary. My main question is seeing there are no females in the mix do we still need to keep them separate or if we build a big enough aviary will they be ok if they have there own. I would like to be able to put them together so we only have to have one pond for the both of them. If it is possible to keep them together how big should the aviary be?

Thanks
Steve

Aw, poor boys! Definitely put them together. They're very docile birds and don't fight like domestics. I have ten pairs in my aviary and they all just do their own thing. They're very sweet birds. They're probably lonely, they'll love the company of each other. I might even be able to get you some girls for you this fall if you want some.

That would be great if we could. From what I understand they did not get along well when together, BUT their enclosures are only 8'x3'x3' which we feel is way to small for one never mind 2.

Yes that's much too small. I would be shocked if they show any aggression towards each other once in a bigger pen. Looks like they're in need of some clean bathing water too. What are you feeding them?
