New to ducks here 😊. I know they say you can't tell sex by tail feathers till they are older but the ducklings I have had since 1 week old till now at almost 3 weeks old have had tail feathers that either point distinctly upward with a curve or down. I was just curious if anyone has found this to be an early indicator?

No, the curly tail feather / drake feather is one of the latest indication of sex and won’t appear until ~13 weeks. You can, however, voice-sex ducklings reliably at 4 weeks, potentially now at 3 weeks.

Hens should’ve started / should start their voice change soon and make a peep-honking sound, whereas drakes won’t get a distinct voice change until 8 - 10 weeks.
