Hey! So these babies are rouens and a Silver Appleyard, based on what you lovely people have told me! Which means two breeds we have never had before! Yay!! With that being said, I’m not sure what the boys and girls start off feathering out like. I have looked up some pictures of both breeds as adults, but that doesn’t help me too much! So I thought I would ask y’all!! Lord’s Willing, they will be 5 weeks old this Saturday. I haven’t heard any voice changes out of the rouens, still happy little chirps, but the SA, Gabby, is our vocal baby…. She started making new noises about 2 weeks ago!! To me, it sounds like a quack, not a raspy boy noise, but who knows! I sure hope and pray she is in fact a she! No tail curls that I can make out just yet, so that’s not helping me identify… I’m mainly just curious if y’all have some ideas based on their beautiful colors!! Thanks in advance, and y’all have a blessed day!!!

(To make things easier for referencing for those of you who know more than I do, the Rouen with a pinkish bill is Snuggles, and the yellow billed Rouen is Little Bit)

I cant help with moving the thread, but the way I tell make vs female with ducks is the voice. The males have a raspy hissing voice and the females are louder.

Okay, thank you so much! The two black ones aren’t making anything but happy very high pitched noises for right now, especially when they see the bag of peas :celebrate, so I guess we’ll just wait!!!
