I recently acquired some ducks from someone who was moving away. I notices one was missing from the little flock and went out searching. I found her on her back with one leg stuck in the air. Breathing but not moving much. I gathered her up and brought her in. She didn't fight me but I usually can't catch her. She had some blood on her side, below her wing but it took me forever to find where it was coming from-a small spot in between her wings. I have her inside, she has nibbled on some food and I have water with b complex in it for her to drink. She has pooped, I'll attach pictures. She seems to be shaking her tail around a bit and almost panting. She can't stand and hasn't tried to move from the towel I have her on. She just kind of has her legs behind her. Her head is up but her body is relaxed? Not sure how to describe it. She is a healthy weight she her feathers are healthy looking. I've had ducks and chickens and everything else for a few years and I'm at a loss.. there was a mushroom near her that looked like it might have been nibbled on, but that doesn't explain the blood. I'll go search her for more, but mouth and vent were clean.

Looks like a wound, are those puncture marks?

Trim or pluck the feathers away from the wound, flush and clean the wound with saline, Chlorhexidine or Povidone Iodine. Apply triple antibiotic ointment to the wound.

Do look her over for more hidden wounds, if those are punctures, there might be more.

She's suffered trauma and it looks like it's along the spine, if something grabbed her, then she may have some damage is and it will take time for her to heal and regain her ability to stand, if at all.

Start her on 400IU Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily. Keep her hydrated and eating.
