So there's this probably 7 week old duckling (now) that we rescued cause someone abandoned it on our lawn in a box. We've raised ducklings plenty of times before, but this situation is new.
It's been having trouble breathing the moment we got it and I noticed when he jostles his chest it sounds like a waterballoon. We have taken him to a vet and they said he had pneumonia and prescribed him antibiotics. His breathing didn't get any better. Now he doesn't seem like he's struggling to breathe as much, but this is new. Does this mean he's recovering or we need to take him back to the vet ASAP?
He seems 100% fine otherwise. His feathers are growing in strong and healthy, he's far from lethargic (He jumped out of his pen today lol), his eyes aren't watering and he doesn't have water coming from his nose. He's also eating and drinking just fine too. This is the only thing wrong with him.
