Hello all,

My two year old muscovy duck (Pretty Girl) is standing/favoring one foot over the other. She walks around fine albeit slowly but she's not limping or anything. When she is standing she will tuck her foot up into herself. It's hot and humid out where I live, so I don't believe she's trying to preserve body heat. She is interested in eating/drinking and forages like normal.
She wasn't like this yesterday. Also idk if this makes a difference, but she is currently laying eggs. I don't believe she's egg-bound or anything though as she already laid one today just fine.

I tried getting a look at the underside of her foot, but I couldn't find anything out of the ordinary? Attached are pictures of what I could get without her getting away from me, and showing how she's standing with her "bad" foot. I'll try to see if I can get better ones tonight when she's in sleep mode.

Please let me know if you see anything out of the ordinary on her foot. If there's something wrong, I wanna take care of it right away. Or let me know if I'm overthinking things.. Either way I can't afford to lose another duck 💔

Thank you for reading and I appreciate your time!!

Update: so I checked on her when I got home and she let me handle her foot, in exchange for treats. I did feel something tiny and sharp hidden by her foot pad, and was able to pull it out. It looks like a wood splinter.
A half hour later I checked on her again, and she's walking and standing like normal! I have a feeling she might've gotten it from the garden because there are a few beds with mulch in them. I will have to bar her from going there.
Attached is her standing on both feet now when before she'd have her left foot tucked in or she'd lean on her right one more than her left.
Thank you for your time <3 I am going to continue to keep an eye on her and put up more chicken wire to keep her out of the garden.
