This morning I went to clean out my ducks brooder, and noticed my female rouen had some blood on the feathers of her wing. And my male rouen wouldn't stop chasing her and biting the blood. I tried to clean it off, but he kept chasing her and biting it. I put him with my chicks, they all shared one brooder up until yesterday. They are all one month old. I don't know how it happened. What can I put on it to stop bleeding and make him stop biting it. I have two females who were already upset yesterday losing their chick friends and now they are really crying for their duck buddy.

Agreed broken blood feathers which happen sometimes especially when they are getting bigger and kept in a brooder. He was only attacking her because when they see blood they go after it. I wouldn’t hold it against him it’s just what they do. Cornstarch as said above does the trick, it’s also good to get some Kwick Stop or other Styptic Powder to have on hand for emergencies.

Thank you. I'm glad I don't have to worry about him becoming a cannibal. What's the best way to put the cornstarch on? Will he bite at the cornstarch? Can you tell me what blood feathers are?

Just..pour it on.
Blood feathers are the growing feathers. Don't put her back in right away. you're going to need to seperate the drake away from the chickens soon, so he doesn't try to mate them.
