Duck with teal-colored poop?

I’ve been finding teal-colored (truly a blue/green, aqua sort of color) poop in the bedding for the last couple of days. I brought our special needs Pekin, Anne, inside for a bath and found out that she’s the culprit. The coloring in this picture is quite off unfortunately. It looks like THIS in person.

Additionally, she seems a little more lethargic than usual and I believe she’s losing weight. I tried feeding her some mashed up hard boiled egg, but she wouldn’t eat it.

What could be causing this?

I don’t think she’s eating normally because of the weight loss. I’ve only seen her eat mealworms and some grass (when they’re out in the yard briefly) in the last few days. They are fed Mazuri Maintenance Diet with free choice oyster shell on the side. Mealworms are their nightly treat for going back into the coop from the play yard.

She has a deformity, or potentially an injury that didn’t heal correctly, in her legs (since she was a baby) so she can’t straighten her “knees” like normal. She can get around but hobbles on her hocks. No swelling or anything there, but it is of course a little tough for her to travel any kind of distance. I usually carry her in and out of the play yard to keep up with the flock, and, since she can’t preen well, we also do a weekly indoor “spa day” lol. But for those reasons, I kind of know how heavy she usually is (I’d say about 8lbs or so), and she feels lighter for sure. Honestly, I know I should have a read on her weight, but I don’t so I’m just going by how she feels to me.

Usually that color poop means some kind of infection going on or it can mean she just isn't eating. Bright florescent green is usually a sign of infection. Any chance of a vet visit? Is she able to get to food and water easily? meant to ask if she is laying?

I have pekin who is about 8 years old and she has a hard time walking (niacin deficiency) she is thinner than the others and can't preen very well either, lately though since we put them on an all flock she's been doing a lot better. I try moving her to the other ducks when I feel she really wants to hang out with them (they go all over the place) I just can't find the durvet vit b complex here
Anyways from what I have learned with chickens is if they aren't eating, their poop turns lime green. I would do research on duck poop figure out what's normal and stuff of course and look up how much a pekin should weigh and things like that. I am going to see if I can find anything on teal green poop in ducks.
I hope she is feeling alright.
Are you supplementing there feed with any niacin at all? I know pekins can still sometimes need extra niacin then what the duck food provides.
Can you get a picture of her feet at all?
And maybe her poops that are normal if she has any that you have a picture of or can get a picture of?
I am thinking she could have just eaten something weird colored. I would keep a close eye on her and all the others. Maybe make sure there is nothing they can get into that could cause harm.

Unfortunately, the only vet in our area that will see ducks gave me a “quality of life” speech for her when she was a few weeks old, instead of pursuing any time of investigation of the issue (which I think at the time may potentially have been fixable). Also I brought a bumblefoot-ed duck there not long ago to have the infection removed and they informed me that “ducks’ feet cannot be wrapped” (untrue - so I took her home and wrapped it myself). Nice enough people, but not very knowledgeable with waterfowl.

She is able to get to the food and water easily. I’m not sure if she’s laying (we have 6 girls in that coop and are getting 3 eggs a day right now), but she is of laying age if that’s useful. She’s 2 years old.

I know that the Mazuri is supposed to be well-balanced with extra niacin for them, but I also do supplement with a niacin powder in the water (really, I do it for her because of the existing issues). I haven’t seen her have any normal poops in at least a few days and they seem to be very liquid too, though we were away for a couple of days so I’m not sure about then. I don’t think there was anything that she could have eaten that would cause this color, and it’s been going on for several days at this point so I’m afraid it would have passed through by now if it was that simple. I wish that would be the answer though! I love her so much, I’m so worried for her.

Is there a way to bring her inside for a few days so you can monitor her eating and drinking? She may just need some TLC but then again it could be something more serious. And you'd also be able to see if she is laying.

It’ll be tough. She’s super bonded to two of the others in particular, Gary (our drake) and Janet. But it’s a good idea - I’ll have to see what we could do.

Do you have any recommendations for getting her to eat? I don’t think she’s eating much of anything other than the mealworms. She’s usually one to eat voraciously too, so it’s definitely odd. I tried giving her a mashed up hard boiled egg yesterday and she wouldn’t eat it, so I added water and she drank some of the water but still didn’t eat the egg.

I just went out to check on her and offered her a handful of food, and she ate it! Voraciously like she usually would!!

I have to go back out in an hour or so and do a better inspection of the coop, but so far I haven’t seen any of the teal-colored stuff around. Hopefully she’s on the mend!!! I’m so hopeful - she’s my baby girl and I’d feel so much better if she gained some weight back (although I’m sure her legs are appreciating the lighter load).
