HI all!

I'm new here, and about a week ago I brought home some ducklings from tractor supply. Can ducklings have different types of fruits/veggies? I feed my ducklings Purina pellets, but I just wanted to make if fruits/veggies are safe for them and if so, what kinds and what nutritional benefits they provide. Thanks!

When mine are little, I float tiny pieces of grass in their water. Only a little, like one blade broken up. They love it and it gives them a taste for what I want them to eat some of when they grow up. If I can’t find any, leaf lettuce works too but only a tiny bit, like thumb nail size total. Note: if you feed any treat besides chick or duck feed they need access to chick grit. It is tiny ground up rocks made for babies but NOT calcium or oyster grit. You can just sprinkle a pinch in their food or in their cage.

When my ducklings were little I’d fill the tub with water for them to swim around daily. I’d also chop up spinach really small and toss it in the water, they love foraging for it and it’s a healthy snack. It also introduces them to eating different foods.
