Duckling needs help

hi there

I have a duckling that hasn’t been able to zip, I was advised to assist so have removed a little shell but the membrane is so dry, I’ve tried to dampen it but the chick still Isn’t managing to get out, it is pushing its beak through the hole and still chirping but I’m scared to help anymore in case it dies

How long has duck egg been externally pipped? What day is duck egg on? What breed of duck? Do you have picture of egg or could you take one? I'd be able to help you more if I could see how egg looks.
