Ducks Stamping Feet!

I wondered if my ducks would know to do this without a mother duck to watch but their first time out in the rain, they immediately started stamping their feet to call out the worms!! So cute!

I didn't know what that was for. One of my pekins will do that, in wet ground only though.

How old were your khakis in this video? Mine are out in the rain today for the first time and they are 7 weeks.

I think they do it to vibrate the ground to trick the worms into thinking it’s raining so they come out.

One of my muscovys will do this, typically always when I'm feeding him. I hadn't noticed anyone else in the flock ever doing it to any real extent though, so I was intrigued. (at first I though maybe he had ants on his feet!) Sounds like possibly just a subconscious behavior for him though... Thanks!!
