Ear hole? Problem?

One of my 3 week old WH ducklings seems to be missing feathers around one ear hole. They are in feather transition, which I know makes them itchy. She was scratching the spot while taking a splash. I’m worried about something getting in there.

If you can take a better picture, that would help. I can't really see what is going on. It could be strange looking just because the duckling is wet, but it is too hard to tell.

It went away when they dried off. I do have a different one showing signs of niacin deficiency…but I’m working on that.

They can look like they have missing patches when they are wet. It is pretty common. It doesn't sound like anything to worry about to me. But still keep an eye on it in case anything changes.
