This gal/guy is six weeks old and is a sapphire olive egger. I know it’s early but I’m seeing things that lead me to believe he’s a roo 😅- thoughts?

On a side note, these pictures don’t capture it, but this bird has the longest legs ever and stand really straight up. We call it Dinosaur 🤣

Not totally sure, could go either way.
With that wattle development, I'm thinking cockerel though

I'm not even going to venture a guess, because this one could really be either. Blue cockerels will get darker shoulder feathers even before saddle feathers, so that's one thing to look for. Yours doesn't appear to have that, but it's still early. The large feet/legs are a sign of a cockerel though...

I'm following this thread because I have two guys (AraucanaXMarans OEs) who should be around 6 weeks now (but they seem to be behind on feathering compared to your chick) and they have for sure the longest legs I've ever seen in chicks. At the moment they don't show any red and any wattles, but they look really suspicious to me. I'm curious about what your chick will grow up to be!

the way it’s standing really screams cockerel to me and looks exactly how mine usually stands. However, they might just be trying to fool us 🤣 I guess time will tell for both of us!
