I'm the guy who has the hen with the swollen oviduct. our vet says she may need to be on the meloxicam indefinitely and of course, i didn't think to ask about eating her eggs. she still lays every two days or so.
she's doing so much better after taking the enrofloxacin and being on the meloxicam, and i don't really care if we can never eat her eggs again. I'll just have to figure out something to do with them. I'm just glad she's feeling better.

Scramble them up and feed them back to her.

yeah that thought crossed my mind, only problem is she has a habit of eating her eggs and i don't want to encourage that. we used to give her a tiny portion of scrambled egg daily, and at that time she would try to eat her egg the second it hit the hay. a couple weeks after we stopped giving her scrambled eggs she would give her egg an hour or so to cool before trying to eat it.

she's very peculiar.
