Egg eating

Hi all,
So the quail laid their first egg, and being as they don't lay in a nest box, I'm assuming there's an increased risk of broken eggs if one gets stepped on on accident, so my concern is, can quail develop bad egg eating habits like chickens?

They can. Like chickens, it's best to take the eggs out as soon as possible. Since quail lay in the afternoons/evenings, you can collect them at night.
