Hi,
I am thinking of starting a small free range egg farm alongside my job. I am based in the UK. I know a fair bit about farming, having spent my school days working on a livestock farm, but would greatly appreciate tips on things like:
Breed
Egg washing
Egg stamping
Egg boxes
Egg prices
Feed
Coop
Run
Organic?
Rules and regualtions
Etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Awesome! I used to sell a lot of my eggs, but it kind of slowed down thanks to winter. A good breed for production would be the White Leghorn, they are used solely for egg production. I sell mine all organic, it is more expensive but I think it's worth it because they're a lot healthier. I sell mine for $5 a dozen, and I only wash the eggs if people are grossed out by them. Once they're washed they have to be refrigerated and I like token mine shelf stable. I just use leftover egg cartons that I collect from neighbors or the rare occasion we get eggs at the grocery store.
