Hi I have a year old and a 4 month old Aylesbury both are laying but this morning the younger has laid 2 eggs and the older one 1! I know this as I only changed their bedding yesterday afternoon. It’s not the first time either. Last week the younger one layed a tiny egg about the size of a quails egg and another twice the size of a standard duck egg. The small one had no yoke, the large was a double yoker. I’m guessing her egg production is kicking in and is a bit all over the place. But my question is. I’ve noticed the shells are discoloured and thin with both my birds eggs. They are on a grower pellet atm Amongs others things like corn, oats and calci warm but should I be moving to a layer pellet now or any other foods that might help with their shell?
