I have four black copper marens hens that I got from “My Pet Chicken” that have been laying for about a year now. They are my only hens that are laying eggs with blood spots in them and all four of them are doing it. They are not small spots either, some of the eggs have a lot of blood in them and it’s every single egg. My question is, is this something that hens will out grow eventually or will they always lay eggs like that?

If it's been going on for this long my guess is there's just something physically or genetically causing it in these particular birds, so they'll always be prone to it.

In my household we'd consider these dog food eggs - the dogs don't mind eating eggs with spots.
