What is the ideal emu enclosure? I'm talking size, enrichment, toys! And even feeders and more
If anyone has links to handy Emu things, please send them to me!!
I'm mostly interested in the size and I'd like it if others could share pictures of their emu enclosures!! đź’“

I'm just making sure for future birds! I'm spamming alot of questions since I'm doing bird studies and I plan on owning these birds soon enough

Hi!

First and foremost, the fence should be at least six feet tall. Anything less than that, and they will very easily go right over it.

Size-wise, go as big as you can! Meat breeders say they do a 20 foot by 100 foot size pen as the minimum for a pair. I would go bigger than that personally.

I use hanging buckets as feeders. I keep them topped up and the birds eat what they want.

For enrichment, they actually like to swim! You could put in a small pond or even use a large, sturdy kiddie pool for them.

Any thing 'feral' that you can get to grow is a benefit. It can be shade or bushes, which some emus like to use to get out of line of sight of more powerful emus.

Grass seeded on any damp patches. Fig trees. Plum trees. Grapes
