My baby chick has bubbles in her eye that won’t go away I haven’t noticed any weird smells or different in their behavior it might be itchy but it’s hard to tell because we have a mite problem that won’t go away

Their 4 months and a week and a half old
I’ve been putting this in their eye but nothing has changed

Is the brown stuff from her or is it medication? Also: I have a buckeye hen who has bubbles in her eyes a lot, and it’s yearly and only in spring. We determined its allergies. Could this be similar to her?

Foamy eye can be a symptom of a common chronic respiratory disease mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG.) You can treat with Tylosin or TiaGard antibiotic in the water for 5 days. You can get Tylosin from birdpalproducts.com jedd.com online. Symptoms can come and go. Clean the eye with saline and apply some Terramycin eye ointment twice a day. I would close your flock in case other chickens are carriers. Here is some reading about MG:

I haven’t noticed any of the other symptoms. She’s breathing normally from what I can tell she hasn’t coughed or sneezed. and it’s been a week since I’ve noticed the bubbles in her eyes
