Has anyone used something like fiber cement sheets for exterior walls instead of painted plywood?

Fiber Cement would be quite a bit more expensive but would be weatherproof.

Thanks, Yeah, the price difference is significant. Was hoping it would offset the cost/time/effort of keeping it painted but it might not.
It's cheaper than the pvc sheet that I used for the hen house floor! That stuff was not cheap! But yes, I spent hours painting every inch of our coop and don't want to do that often!

Painting T-11 sheathing is as easy as using exterior stain. You can use a semi transparent stain for a nice wood look or solid body for color. The plywood material will hold those products much better than smooth wood does. Will last a long time on that rough sheathing surface and re-coating is scraping free. Pressure wash or hose and scrub it clean then slap on another two coats.
