Fibro frizzle gender?

Hey all. I just got 2 frizzle fibro Easter Eggers and I'm wondering how to sex them.

The farm we got them from say "First generation should get their fibro from their dad given to female offspring only" so they think they are female and didn't sex them.

Is that true? We have always had brahmas and orpingtons do we don't know much about fibros or frizzles. So far they are wanting to do a lot of sitting down flat and burring their chests in the hay.

They hatched from a frizzle Easter eggers blue eggs and the dad is a mystic onyx.

If the father was fibro and the mother was not but had regular coloring, then yes, the female offspring should be fibro and the male offspring should not be.

But how well do you trust that is the true parentage? Some breeders are unscrupulous. I will say that so far the chicks look to be pullets, but it is still very early.

Thanks for the feedback! They are a well known farm in my area with high ratings so I don't think they would lie about the parents but I don't know much about breeding and fibros to have the reassurance they could be female. Our last group of Easter Eggers we baught from someone else, we were told were sexed at hatch as pullet. They all turned out to be roos

Hopefully you get girls this time. Most breeders are not able to sex chicks at birth, so I would avoid those that say they can unless it's sex links or an auto-sexing breed.
