Hello all,
We’ve finally decided where we want our permanent coop and run for our 4 ducks and 4 baby ducks. We repurposed an old shed (10x20)that was on our property and moved it across the yard. We partitioned the back half (10x10) for the coop and built a lean to style on one side for the run(10x20). We plan on adding the same size run on the back and other side of the shed once we get the funds to do so. So far it’s been going great! Next step is the 2x4 welded wire and roofing material (repurposed metal).

DUCK/GOOSE RUN WE JUST BUILT!

The 2 of us just finished building a 'run' addition to the 'little goose coop' we built ourselves 5 years ago (with no plans, experience, fancy tools, or help!)

We had a not great, make-do, detached 'run' for several years and finally designed and built this new one onto the coop for our 3 ducks and pet goose, Gabby, and just finished! It took us only about 10 days start to finish with a lot of by hand excavating! They now have a safe, attached run with a little door for them into their coop. Soft river rock base is gentle on their feet and easy to clean.

The little garden we made built into the rock patio was a great place for some excess dirt. We made a little wattle border around it and planted it with wildflower mixed seeds.

We designed our goose coop to blend with our 250 year old house and we think the run compliments it as well...Everything was done by us on a budget and cost far less than anything pre-made and we think it's much nice too. The girls love it!

Nice! I really like the use of the rocks. We have a ton of rocks of all shapes and sizes from the barns that used to be on the property. Always looking for new ideas to use them!
Is that a PVC feeder you have in the corner there of the run? It looks clean, blends right in.

Yes, a vet recommended the river rocks---soft and safe for their webbed feet so they don't get bumblefoot, etc. Hubby designed and made the PVC feeder. It even has a cover of PVC for at night. Attached with a RUBBER HOSE CLAMP because they can get hurt on metal ones.
