My wife went out to give the girls some treats (holy crap they're spoiled and will probably be fat hens between the two of us with our treats) and she let out a yelp. Fearing the worst I ran out to see the inevitable carnage, but she was just excited about our first egg! It's so pretty, I almost want to preserve the shell.

that is the most perfect egg I have ever seen! :)

How do I do this? I’m a planning to save all the first egg shells.
Very carefully poke a hole in each end. A tiny drill bit works well, but go slowly so you don't crack or break the shell. Try to make a hole about 1/16" diameter in each end. Stick something thin, like a straightened paperclip, or the drill bit, in the egg and use it to break up the egg yolk.

Blow through the egg. You have to seal your lips around the hole and really blow. If you played a wind or brass instrument, harness that lung power. Good luck!
