First time incubating *duck eggs*

Hello, my duck eggs are on day 4/5 (coming up to) from time put in. I'd like to know if this is develpoment starting. Also one of the eggs is abit larger then the rest and has the same but it's two smaller dots?Or is that normal . I know it's super early still really hard to see on camera but I can see clearly when candling them

I’d say that to me it looks like they are developing but it is hard to tell from pictures. Good luck! I hope you get some ducklings!

That’s great! Hope they hatch! I have some in the incubator right now and I’m already growing impatient!

Haha! Same here it's a exciting wait!, the egg I was saying had two spots is twins, I can see two eyes apart from each other both moving seem to have a floating vein running to each other am going to guess they wont survive? Really hard to get on camera with this egg they're not as close to the shell as the other singles

Wow! That's very cool. I have an interesring egg in my batch too. The aircell is on the small end instead of the bottom. Sadly twins do not survive very often. I know of a few instances but not many. How many eggs do you have developing? They are on day 8 or 9 right?

Ooops sorry confusing me this reply thing lol. Interesting will they hatch on that side? My app says day 9 but day 10 starts at 12pm. I threw one egg so I have 3 the one I chucked had zero development not even a disc I checked it closely and there was also a crack

I’m not sure how the hatch for that egg is going to go. I’ve never seen one like it before. That one is a guinea egg and it goes into lockdown tommorow
Right now In my incubator i have a staggered hatch going on. I’m down to 1 call duck egg on day 9. I started with eight eggs but only 2 developed and 1 quit. I have 2 guinea fowl eggs in there as well that are on day 24 today. I also have quite a few guinea eggs on day 18.
After this hatch is over, I’m going to do a hatch of only call duck eggs.
