Hello everyone! I just wanted to drop a quick post here. Thanks to this site I've been doing regular body checks on my small flock 7 hens and three roosters (yes, too many roosters 😅). I check their crops at night, and pick them up once a week to make sure everyone feels heavy for their size. Am treating one hen with antibiotics after noticing her eggs were going bad before I could use them. Another hen started her molt so I've upped their protein, she also might be developing ascites as her belly is getting bigger (she's a sapphire gem). I'm playing around at what could help as a diuretic. Due to high predator load they only free range for half a day or less. Other than my production red, everyone seems happy with this arrangement.

Thanks again to everyone here for all the support!

Good idea to do weekly checks, things can go badly so quickly. If you need any help with health issues, you can find a lot of it on the ER forum. Best wishes!
