Much better today. I washed his eye out with saline solution (very diluted with filtered water) and he’s keeping it open now.
I think he will be fine. Except his alarm cluck isn’t set quite right yet. 3:40 am too early.

My daughter at 30 has experienced all that. Witnessed her parents divorce at a young age, worked her way through college, acquired a number of scholarships, has already paid her student loans, bought and paid for a newer car, bought an older house and remodeled it herself, she has helped her older sister raise my granddaughter, works a full time and part time job for 2 big radiology departments in Austin. I think she's ready. She was raised to be independent and strong and she is both. She has dated Vince for a number of years and I honestly was getting impatient for him to pop the question. When he asked for my blessing I proudly gave it. Vince is a dr at the VA clinic in Austin and a dang nice guy. I have liked him from the get go.

I think that is so adorable and so old fashioned that he asked for your blessing

My niece’s fiancé did the same thing, he asked my BIL for his blessing - I was very surprised in this day and age guys still do this

Good morning all - the chooks are doing good, but Betty the brat wanted to stay in the Summer House with Mr P and the older ladies. I did have her in there until a few nights ago when I came home and she had picked Mr P’s butt feathers making him bleed again.

I have given her strict instructions not to pick him.

Rudy’s crow is just too loud for indoors. I took him back to the coop and brought little CeeCee in with me. Some reason, she was perched alone in the coop.

My very first love was with me through the first phase of my sheriff academy.
I also asked her dad if I could marry her. He actually brought out a shotgun, unloaded as a joke, and said “I’m sure you will make a great husband someday, but my daughter is not ready yet to marry anyone. You will find yourself disappointed !” That came from her own father. I have tracked her over the years. She’s been married 4 times since, has 7 children from different fathers and recently lives on a ranch in Colorado. Glad I listened to my elders! This is a true story of my life. Tracking down people is what I have done throughout my entire career. FYI
