We've soaked our hen twice daily for 3 days and have seen no more larva or anything else. She is inside our house, in a kennel. What do we do next? How do we treat the wound now? Will the wound heal? Do we continue with the 2 x's daily soaks?

We've been following this article and it says to keep soaking until magots are gone and wound is healed.

It will take some weeks to heal. I would spray it twice a day with saline or a wound spray such as Vetericyn. Then after it dries a bit, put on an antibiotic ointment. A warm soak daily might help as well until some healing starts.

Thank you so much. This is what I needed to know. We'll start spraying it twice a day.

Thank you EVERYONE for all of your knowledge & wisdom! Our girl recovered well and is back with the flock ruling over them all.
